Sure Im going to get a lot of flack for saying this out loud, but hear me out. Im glad Dodge had the cojones to go put 707 wild ponies into a 4 door, but what happens next?
Fine for going 150 km/h = $10,000 here in Ontario.

Are you telling me you can't outrun a stock police cruiser with 707 horsepower?

I really hate OPP...they know how to hide well.

No. I am telling you I can't outrun the chopper.

Got pulled over 7 times in one year a few years ago. Horrific.

You might want to slow down then. It only takes 1 ticket for me to realize that.
![]() 08/13/2014 at 16:07 |

sure you can. You just need a button that says "go baby go"
![]() 08/13/2014 at 16:08 |

So any car over 50hp is pointless than … well I better just leave oppo.

$10,000 for 150kph? Sucks to live out east.

It's really the radio that you need to hide from, and that's impossible.

Wow! That's insane! I never got pulled over by OPP, but I seen so much people pulled over by them that I tamed my self and put the cruise all the time.

I drove a V8 mustang out here on the highway. Wasn't paying attention looked down....140 km/h without even noticing. Ontario speed limits far too low. Fast cars are great, I just can't utilize 707 HP in any meaningful way.
![]() 08/13/2014 at 16:10 |

Actually, you would easily out run the chopper. The radio on the other hand...

Three equipment tickets, two equipment warnings, one unsafe lane change warning and one illegal left turn.
"Slow down for what!!"
Last time pulled over was doing 80 km/h in a 90 km/h zone. I will slow down though good point.

Ticket for equipment? WTF? My bad on the speeding assumption, btw. I assumed at least ONE of them would be for speeding. Boy, was I wrong.

You can speed with 100hp, so I don't get your point.

what the heck! The fine for 168 km/h is only $690 bucks + $500 for a traffic lawyer + 30 day suspension in Alberta
Don't ask me how I know this.
Hint: I used to own a Dodge Challenger SRT8

Not so fast. I've driven a car with under 50hp 83 before. WHERE THERE'S A WILL THERE'S A WAY.

I'M NOT WORTHY!!!11!1!!1!
But really? what car was it? & was it downhill?
![]() 08/13/2014 at 17:09 |

VW Rabbit diesel pickup, and yes, downhill.

No worries. Sorry if I got really defensive. My driving record is a sore spot. Better now though.

Outrun? No. Outsmart? Yes.

I want a car where I feel like going 150 km/h is a big deal. IN a hellcat I could get up to that speed without even noticing since the engine has so much power.
It's like my recent post about the Veyron. It really affects me not that they upped the top speed from 230 mph to (supposedly) 268 mph in the new one. I ain't hitting 230 around here.
707 hp to me is basically theoretical. I'll use it all up in about 3 seconds then try to fight the car to keep the speed down. 400 hp is PLENTY enough for me.

I would love to take a 707 hp hellcat on a true US or German freeway with higher limits, but I yam where I yam, I do what I do, I live where I live. The max speed in this province is 62 mph, and the fine for going 93 mph is $10K.
It sucks. I voted for people who might abolish some of these inane laws. They lost. The inane laws remain another 4 years. The Hellcat is a batshit insane car. It's not the car for me.

I drove a car with 92 hp 93 mph before.

Well no one follows the speed limit on the 407 and the police are no where to be seen
![]() 08/13/2014 at 19:18 |

Interesting. I have never been on the 407. People don't follow the speed limit on the 417 either, but they will look out for those going 120+

So flooring it on a free way on-ramp in Canada is frowned upon?
Thank heavens for the GSP and NJTP for their gorgeous on-ramps. And screw you to the people who don't move out of the right lane to let people merge onto the highway. And double screw you to the people who SPEED up to not let people on.
